
NEW YORK, July 14 (UPI) -- Usher will join the cast of the Broadway musical, "Chicago" and make his debut Aug. 22 as Billy Flynn.
This will be the five-time Grammy Award winner's Broadway debut, BroadwayWorld.com reported Friday.
Usher is the latest star cast in the hit Broadway musical, other stars brought to the Broadway stage for "Chicago" include Melanie Griffith, Brooke Shields, Kevin Richardson, Wayne Brady and Huey Lewis.
"Usher will certainly add excitement to the Broadway season with his many legions of fans experiencing live theater," Barry Weissler, one of the producers of the show, told BroadwayWorld.com. "We could not be happier to have such a major star of the music world bring his talent to our show. His amazing presence and voice will certainly make a most impressive Billy Flynn and will establish him as a force on Broadway."
