Brigitte Nielsen weds for fifth time

BUGIBBA, Malta, July 9 (UPI) -- Danish actress and model Brigitte Nielsen has wed former model Mattia Dessi at the Radisson Golden Sands Resort in Malta, People magazine reports.

This is Nielsen's fifth marriage. She was most recently married to former race car driver Raoul Meyer, whom she divorced last year.

Nielsen and Dessi were married in the Dominican Republic in 2005, but the ceremony was not official because Nielsen was not completely divorced from Meyer at that time, People said.

Nielsen has four children from previous marriages.

Her most recent love affair, with U.S. rapper Flavor Flav, provided the material for the VH1 series "The Surreal Life" as well as a spin-off featuring the oddly matched couple. At the end of the series, Nielsen chooses Dessi over Flav.

Nielsen is best known for her roles in several action movies of the 1980s, including "Rocky IV" and "Beverly Hills Cop II."
