HOLLYWOOD, July 7 (UPI) -- "Gilmore Girls" star Alexis Bledel and former co-star Milo Ventimiglia have reportedly split up.

A spokesman for Ventimiglia told People magazine the actor "is currently single."

The breakup was apparently low-key, as the couple is said to have avoided the spotlight during their three-year relationship. During that time, the couple also had an on-screen courtship on "Gilmore Girls."

Both Bledel and Ventimiglia are reportedly moving on in their careers. She will continue in her role as Rory on "Gilmore Girls" and Ventimiglia is slated for a role in the new NBC show "Heroes."

Bledel and Ventimiglia met on the set of "Gilmore Girls" in the show's second season when Ventimiglia joined the cast as Jess, the nephew of Luke Danes (Scott Patterson). Although the on-screen romance quickly blossomed, the couple did not start dating off-screen until the end of Ventimiglia's stint as a regular on the show, People said.
