LOS ANGELES, July 6 (UPI) -- Ziggy Marley says the title of his new album, "Love is My Religion," genuinely reflects his beliefs.
"One day I was speaking with a lady, and I said 'What religion are you?'" said Marley, the oldest son of the late reggae legend Bob Marley. "She said she was Catholic, and she turned around and asked me the same question. And at that moment I just said 'Love is my religion.'
"At that moment there was a spark in my head -- 'That's what I am about! That's what I believe, and that's my philosophy.' So this is my religion. It's all about loving each other."
Marley attended Christian and Rastafari churches in Jamaica while growing up.
"Love is My Religion" is Marley's second solo album after 16 years of recording with his siblings as the Melody Makers.
