Robocop ties the knot

POSITANO, Italy, June 30 (UPI) -- Peter Weller, who played the cyborg detective in the first two "Robocop" films, recently married longtime girlfriend Sherri Stowe.

Weller and Stowe tied the knot in Italy on June 24; it was also Weller's 59th birthday, Zap2it.com reported Friday.

The ceremony was held in the Santa Maria Assunta church in the town of Positano, along the Amalfi coast.

Weller's last starring role was as a music executive in "Undiscovered." His other film credits include "The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension," "Leviathan," "Naked Lunch" and "Mighty Aphrodite." On TV, he last appeared in "The Poseidon Adventure" and "24."
