STOCKTON, Calif., June 30 (UPI) -- Actor Rob Schneider has recovered after collapsing on the set of his new movie "Big Stan" because of food poisoning and heat exhaustion.

The 42-year-old star of "Deuce Bigalow" and a frequent player in Adam Sandler films was treated at San Joaquin General Hospital in California, he was released the same day, andPOP.com reported Friday.

"The combination of bad food and the heat just hit him," Shara Koplowitz, Schneider's publicist, told andPOP.com. "He's back on the set directing today."
