Lil' Kim soon to be free

NEW YORK, June 30 (UPI) -- Kimberley Jones, better known as Lil' Kim, is scheduled to be released from the Philadelphia Federal Detention Center on Monday.

When she is released, she will remain under house arrest for 30 days, 5W Public Relations reported Friday.

The rapper was sentenced to a year in jail after being convicted of lying to a grand jury about a shootout between rival rappers in front of New York radio station in 2001.

"I am thrilled to be coming home," stated Lil' Kim. "I thank all my fans for all their letters, as well as my family and friends for all their support throughout the past ten months."

"We are pleased that Kim is coming home to start the next phase of her life. She has accepted responsibility and handled herself in an exemplary manner," said Londell McMillan" class="tpstyle">L. Londell McMillan, Entertainment Attorney for Lil' Kim.
