Harry Potter author is sad to see the end

LONDON, June 26 (UPI) -- J.K. Rowling, currently writing the seventh and final book in the Harry Potter series, said "I am feeling sad as it is the last one but so far, so good."

"I'm doing well I think. You can never really tell until you get near the end. I am not quite there yet," she added, Life Style Extra reported Monday.

Rowling, a mother of three, was attending a garden party for 2,000 children at Buckingham Palace on Sunday as part of Queen Elizabeth II's 80th birthday. She was delighted to be mobbed when she arrived.

"This is the bit I really like -- the fans. I like meeting them," Rowling said.

After complaining about a notepad shortage near her home in Edinburgh, fans sent her everything from a single sheet of paper to entire notepads. A paper merchant even delivered a set of notebooks embossed with the author's name.

The author has previously stated how she prefers writing with a pen and paper to computers.
