LOS ANGELES, June 23 (UPI) -- William Shatner, the Canadian who became famous playing Capt. Kirk on "Star Trek," is next in line to be roasted about his career on "Comedy Central."

While Pamela Anderson -- who was recently roasted -- might be easy to poke fun at, Shatner may prove a bit tougher, zap2it reported. Shatner starred in a few classic television programs in the 1950s and 1960s.

He has written three books about his "Star Trek" experiences. He is a musician, a producer and has won two Emmys for acting on "The Practice" and "Boston Legal." Shatner's voice can also be heard on "Over the Hedge."

Still, Elizabeth Porter, a Comedy Central senior vice president, said the roasters would find a way.

"By the end of this year's roast," she said, "Shatner may wish he was in a galaxy far, far away."
