Producer Aaron Spelling

LOS ANGELES, June 22 (UPI) -- Producer Aaron Spelling is resting at his home in Los Angeles after suffering a stroke.

Publicist Kevin Sasaki told People magazine Spelling's wife, Candy, is with him, and he is under the care of a doctor. His son, actor Randy Spelling, has also been at the house in Holmby Hills.

Spelling, 83, began his television career as a writer and producer in the 1950s with shows like "The Zane Grey Theater" and "Jane Wyman Presents." He has been responsible for a string of hits from "Charlie's Angels," "Fantasy Island" and "Dynasty" to "Beverly Hills 90210," "Seventh Heaven" and "Charmed."
