LOS ANGELES, June 19 (UPI) -- Tippi Hedren, star of "The Birds" has adopted Michael Jackson's orphaned pet tigers, Sabu and Thriller.
Hendren has moved the two 7-year-old male Bengal tigers to her Acton, Calif., feline sanctuary, the Shambala Preserve, The New York Daily News reported Monday.
"They are very happy at Shambala. It's a great environment," said Dr. Martin Dinnes, Jackson's longtime veterinarian and Hedren's fiancé.
Hedren, 76, best known for her roles in Alfred Hitchcock's thrillers "The Birds" and "Marnie," plans to build a $70,000 compound for the tigers. She runs the 80-acre sanctuary on donations raised by her nonprofit Roar Foundation.
Hedren raises $1.1 million a year to run the animal preserve.
