NEW YORK, June 14 (UPI) -- Actress Haylie Duff will make her Broadway debut playing Amber Von Tussle in the musical "Hairspray."
Duff, the sister of singer Hillary Duff, has been a professional actress since appearing in the TV miniseries "True Women" at age 12, Playbill.com reports. Duff has written songs for her sister's albums and performed with her in the past.
She is scheduled to make her debut on July 18, with "Hairspray" tour star Aaron Tveit -- who plays Link Larkin, the love interest of Duff's character -- joining the Broadway cast.
R&B singer Tevin Campbell will remain in his role as Seaweed Stubbs, while "American Idol" runner-up Diana DeGarmo will return to her role as Penny Pingleton beginning Sept. 8.
