Trump gets 'Monopoly'

NEW YORK, June 7 (UPI) -- Billionaire Donald Trump's deal to bring the board game "Monopoly" to TV will allow contestants to simulate his specialty -- developing properties.

Trump has teamed with producer R.J. Cutler and toy company Hasbro to transform the game into a reality series, Daily Variety reported.

Merv Griffin brought the board game to TV in 1990, but it was canceled.

All involved are keeping details of the show under wraps, but Variety said the concept involves contestants improving properties as a means of increasing their net worth.

Trump and Cutler are reported to have meetings scheduled for next week with the four major networks to pitch the show.
