NEW YORK, June 2 (UPI) -- Stock footage of Fox TV's "American Idol" judges will be used in the Lifetime network's TV biopic about 2004 winner Fantasia Barrino.

"Idol" judges Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson wanted to appear in "Life is Not a Fairy Tale," based on Barrino's autobiography, but "we couldn't make it happen due to timing," a Lifetime spokeswoman told Friday's New York Post.

The film, parts of which were shot in New Orleans, is scheduled to air on the cable channel later this summer.
