Top cast is filled out for 'Underdog'

LOS ANGELES, May 15 (UPI) -- The producers of Hollywood's take on the popular 1960s "Underdog" cartoon have hired Amy Adams to star as Sweet Polly Purebred.

NBC's "My Name is Earl" star Jason Lee will voice humble and loveable Shoeshine Boy who turns into Underdog when his lady love is in trouble, while "The Station Agent" star, Peter Dinklege, will voice a villain, Daily Variety reports.

Fredrik Du Chau of "Racing Stripes" fame will direct the combination computer generated animation and live action film for Disney, Variety said.

Adams was nominated for her Oscar last year for "Junebug" and will next be seen this summer in "Talladega Nights."
