ALICE, N.D., May 15 (UPI) -- Shock rocker Alice Cooper has been presented with the key to the tiny hamlet of Alice, N.D.

About 1,000 people flocked to the city with a population of 60 to see the rocker pull up in a Hummer stretch limousine Sunday evening, the Fargo (N.D.) Forum reported Monday.

The crowd cheered as Cooper hoisted his award above his head and said: "I thought they were giving me the whole town. I was going sell it to (David) Bowie."

Following the ceremony, Cooper said he could hardly wait to tell British shock rocker Ozzy Osbourne about the experience.

"I can go to Ozzy, 'Do you have a city? I have a city,'" Cooper said.

The avid golfer was making his first concert appearance at the Fargo Civic Center in 28 years Monday night.
