LOS ANGELES, May 10 (UPI) -- Rap star Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson is expanding his acting résumé with the lead role in Universal Pictures' "Live Bet."

The film from brothers Charley and Vlas Parlapanides centers around New York's underground betting on illegal car races, The Hollywood Reporter said.

50 Cent's screen debut was his semi-autobiographical "Get Rich or Die Tryin'" and he next appears in Irwin Winkler's "Home of the Brave."

Vlas Parlapanides wrote "Across the Sea" and "Everything for a Reason," which his brother produced.
