Ashanti, Larter and Egan join 'Evil' cast

LOS ANGELES, May 10 (UPI) -- Ali Larter, Ashanti and Chris Egan are the latest big names jumping aboard the Screen Gems' sequel, "Resident Evil: Extinction."

The newcomers will join returning cast members Mila Jovovich, Oded Fehr and Sienna Guillory in the film penned by Paul W.S. Anderson, The Hollywood Reporter said.

Director Russell Mculcahy is scheduled to start filming Monday in Mexico.

Larter's previous credits include "Legally Blonde," "Final Destination" and "Varsity Blues" and she next hits the big screen in "Southland Tales."

Singer/actress Ashanti appeared in "Coach Carter" and the upcoming "John Tucker Must Die."
