The BBC dominates at TV Baftas

LONDON, May 8 (UPI) -- "Doctor Who," "Bleak House" and "EastEnders" helped the BBC clean up at the Bafta Television Awards at London's Grosvenor House hotel.

"Bleak House" took best serial drama and its star, Anna Maxwell Martin, was named best actress Sunday night while the revival of "Doctor Who" took best drama series as well as the Dennis Potter Award for outstanding writing, the Telegraph reported Monday.

"EastEnders" broke "Coronation Street's" four-year streak, taking the best soap crown and BBC1 talk show host Jonathon Ross was named entertainer of the year.

Channel 4's "The Government Inspector" was named best single drama and its star, Mark Rylance, won best actor.

Jamie Oliver's "School Dinners" won the Richard Dimbleby Award for factual programming while the an outstanding presenter of a factual and the BBC's "10 o'clock News" won the best coverage award for its reporting on the London bombings last July.
