Anderson Cooper to join '60 Minutes'

NEW YORK, April 27 (UPI) -- A deal is reportedly in the works to bring CNN's Anderson Cooper aboard as a contributor to CBS' "60 Minutes," the New York Post reported Thursday.

The deal being hammered out between Cooper and CBS News would have him file reports that would run on his CNN show, "Anderson Cooper 360," as well as "60 Minutes," the Post said.

CBS has had a similar deal with CNN's Christine Amanpour for years, the Post noted.

If the deal comes through, it would make Cooper -- who turns 39 in June -- the youngest face on the CBS Sunday night staple.

Katie Couric, who is leaving NBC's "Today" show, will also contribute to "60 Minutes" when she begins her job anchoring the "CBS Evening News."
