Stars come out to welcome Roberts to B'Way

NEW YORK, April 20 (UPI) -- A star-studded audience gave actress Julia Roberts a standing ovation and two curtain calls after her Broadway debut in the play "Three Days of Rain."

Oprah Winfrey, Tim Robbins, Dave Matthews, James Gandolfini, Terrence McNally, Mario Cantone, James Lipton and New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg were in the sold-out house at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre Wednesday night, the New York Daily News reported.

Roberts, Paul Rudd and Bradley Cooper took two curtain calls as the audience stood and cheered.

During the after-show party, Roberts described her mood as "very happy."

"I think it went really well, but I don't want to use the word relieved," she said.

The 12-week run is Roberts' first high-profile project since giving birth to twins Phinnaeus and Hazel in November 2004, the newspaper noted.
