Murphy, Gooding and Newton in 'Norbit'

LOS ANGELES, April 18 (UPI) -- Thandie Newton, Cuba Gooding Jr., Eddie Griffin and Terry Crews have joined Eddie Murphy in the cast of the comedy "Norbit."

The DreamWorks Pictures film stars Murphy as a meek guy who is marrying a horrid woman, played by Murphy in drag, when he meets Newton, the woman of his dreams, Daily Variety reported Tuesday.

Gooding will play Newton's boyfriend, Griffin will portray a retired pimp and Crews, from "Everybody Hates Chris, plays one of the in-laws, Variety said.

The film, currently under production in Los Angeles, reunites Murphy with producer John Davis from "Daddy Day Care" and "Dr. Doolittle."
