Matthew Perry takes on indie film

LOS ANGELES, April 18 (UPI) -- "Friends" star Matthew Perry will head the cast of "Numb," a dark indie comedy about a screenwriter by Harris Goldberg.

Goldberg will make his feature directorial debut on the picture, which is about a screenwriter who wants to cure his severe depression to win the love of a woman, The Hollywood Reporter said Tuesday.

Paul Schiff is producing along with Insight Films' Kirk Shaw and Mary Aloe.
