LOS ANGELES, April 17 (UPI) -- The Disney Channel is planning a sequel to "High School Musical," its most popular original made-for-TV movie ever, it was reported Monday.

The original cast including Zac Efron, Vanessa Anne Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale and Lucas Grabeel will all be back for the sequel, the Los Angeles Times reported.

In addition, the Mouse House is considering turning "High School Musical" into a stage show and there are talks of making it a weekly series as well, the Times said.

The movie's soundtrack has surpassed the 2 million mark in sales, making it the bestselling album of 2006. The National Basketball Association has adopted the single, "Get'cha Head in the Game," for its promos.

Producer Bill Borden told the Times "High School Musical" has been successful because it doesn't "speak down to anyone."
