Officer cleared of abuse in Game arrest

GREENSBORO, N.C., April 14 (UPI) -- An off-duty Greensboro, N.C., police officer has been cleared of wrongdoing in connection with an altercation with rapper The Game, it was reported Friday.

The rapper accused the unidentified officer of brutality during an arrest in a shopping mall last Oct. 28. The Game was wearing a Halloween mask at the time.

The off-duty officer pepper-sprayed the rapper, born Jayceon Taylor, after Taylor refused requests from mall security to remove the mask and leave the mall.

"They thought I was Rodney King," Game told AllHipHip.com after the incident. "I would play the racial card but we've done that too much. I'm here for the concert and signing a little girl's autograph got me arrested."

An investigation by the Internal Affairs division of the Greensboro Police Department concluded the officer did not act out of line, AllHipHop.com said.

An arrest warrant was issued for The Game after he skipped out on a March 28 court date on charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
