LOS ANGELES, April 10 (UPI) -- Kiefer Sutherland has signed on for three more years as the star of Fox TV's "24" as well as a development deal with 20th Century Fox Television.
Details of the development deal were sketchy, but the contract with "24" is estimated to be more than $40 million, which would make Sutherland TV's highest paid dramatic actor, The Hollywood Reporter said.
Fox has so far ordered one more season of "24," which also sees Sutherland move from co-executive producer to executive producer with Joel Surnow, Robert Cochran, Howard Gordon and Evan Katz.
Sutherland is putting together his own production company, which will develop and produce projects for TV, the Internet and wireless devices, The Reporter said.
Sutherland won a Golden Globe and has garnered four Emmy nominations for his work on "24," now in its fifth season.
