BOMBAY, April 10 (UPI) -- Bollywood actor John Abraham was in stable condition Monday in a Bombay hospital with injuries suffered in a weekend motorcycle accident.

Abraham hurt his left ankle and knee when his bike skidded out of control and hit another motorcycle in the opposite lane Saturday night, the Press Trust of India reported.

The actor was reportedly traveling at a high rate of speed with no headlights when he swerved to miss a pedestrian and hit the oncoming cycle carrying two youths.

The youths sustained only minor injuries.

Police said Abraham faces arrest for negligent driving after he is released from Lilavati Hospital.
