LOS ANGELES, April 7 (UPI) -- ABC has halted production on the comedy pilot "Mr. Nice Guy," which was targeted for fall 2006, it was reported Friday.

Diedrich Bader of "Drew Carey," Rena Sofer and Kevin Weisman were set to star in the show, which had not progressed past a table read when the project was shelved, Daily Variety reported.

The show about a young man who tries to do good but always ends up looking bad will be developed for a later date.
