LOS ANGELES, April 7 (UPI) -- Dweezil Zappa will lead a band of his father's former collaborators on a North American tour called "Zappa Plays Zappa."

The tour is scheduled to kick off in Philadelphia June 11 and run through June 24 with the finale in San Francisco, Billboard.com reported Friday. Among the major stops are Boston, New York, Detroit, Toronto and Phoenix.

Backing up the rock prodigy will be Steve Vai, Terry Bozzio and Napoleon Murphy Brock, Billboard said.

Zappa previously told Billboard.com the concert will leave fans with a "well-rounded experience."

"He had over 70 albums, so that's hundreds and hundreds of songs," he said. "It's only a two-hour show -- we'll be lucky to get 30 songs in there. But it's going to change on a nightly basis."
