Next Shins album pushed back to fall

PORTLAND, Ore., March 31 (UPI) -- The Shins' third album on Seattle's Sub Pop label has been pushed back from a summer release to October, it was reported Friday.

The Shins' 2003 album, "Chutes Too Narrow," has sold nearly 379,000 U.S. copies, Billboard.com reported.

The group started recording last September with producer Phil Ek in Seattle and the album is being finished in the Portland, Ore., studio of Shins singer James Mercer, Billboard.com said.

The band is aiming to have the product wrapped up by the time travels to Britain for a series of shows in May.
