LOS ANGELES, March 31 (UPI) -- The word is out -- Fox TV's dysfunctional cartoon family, "The Simpsons," will hit the big screen in summer of 2007.
A teaser for "The Simpsons" movie debuted in U.S. theaters Friday just before the opening of 20th Century Fox's "Ice Age: The Meltdown," The Hollywood Reporter said.
The 25-second clip opened with a giant 'S.'
"Leaping his way onto the silver screen, the greatest hero in American history!," a narrator said, cutting to Homer Simpson on his couch in his underwear saying: "I forgot what I was supposed to say."
The narrator continued, "'The Simpsons Movie,' coming to the screen, July 27, 2007."
"Uh, uh," answered Homer, "we better get started."
The Reporter said the same clip was scheduled to air during Sunday night's episode of "The Simpsons" on Fox TV.
