BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., March 30 (UPI) -- BMI Thursday announced it will honor Crosby, Stills & Nash as BMI Icons at the performing rights organization's 54th annual Pop Awards.

The May 16 formal gala at the Regent Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif., will honor the songwriters and publishers of the most performed songs of 2005, Daily Variety said.

A special musical tribute will honor Crosby, Stills & Nash, who will join Paul Simon, James Brown and Brian Wilson among other Icon award winners.

The Icon award goes to artists and/or songwriters who have made "a unique and indelible influence on generations of music makers," BMI said.
