NEW YORK, March 29 (UPI) -- "American Idol" dropout Mario Vazquez is about to become a household name again, one year after he walked away from the finals of the Fox TV talent show.

The New York native's single, "Gallery," produced by the legendary Clive Davis, has been sent to radio stations nationwide in two versions, English and Spanish, the New York Post reported Wednesday.

Industry sources say his album is in production right now and expected to hit store shelves at the end of the summer.

Vazquez stunned not only "Idol" personnel but also his family when he made it to the final 12, then announced he would rather try to make it on his own.

Then late last summer, he signed with Davis' J Records.
