NORTHRIDGE, Calif., March 28 (UPI) -- The mother of guitarist Randy Rhoads has added $20,000 to the scholarship she created in memory of her son at California State University, Northridge.

The founder of Quiet Riot and Ozzy Osbourne's lead guitarist died in a plane crash while on tour with Osbourne in 1982.

His mother, Delores Rhoads, who runs the North Hollywood music school Musonia, recently increased the scholarship endowment in his name by $20,000 to a total $45,000, KNAC.com reported Tuesday.

She has donated a total $75,000 to the school in memory of her son including funds to the school's International Guitar Research Archive.
