'Desperate Housewives' to become a game

BURBANK, Calif., March 24 (UPI) -- ABC's hit TV series "Desperate Housewives" is being turned into an interactive video game, Burbank, Calif.-based Buena Vista Games announced Friday.

Coming out in September, the game will let players become new housewives who unlock the secrets of Wisteria Lane by interacting with their neighbors, E! Online reported.

One of the show's writers, Scott Sanford Tobis, wrote the script for the game.

"It's a great opportunity to allow our viewers the chance to be a part of the world of 'Desperate Housewives,'" series creator Marc Cherry said in a statement.

In other Wisteria Lane news, TV Guide reported Friday that Kyle MacLachlan is joining the cast of the Sunday night show.

The former "Sex and the City" star debuts April 16 as a dentist with "a thing" for Teri Hatcher's Susan.
