U2 crowned richest rockers of 2005

NEW YORK, March 15 (UPI) -- Irish rockers U2 were the only act to break the $100 million mark in combined tour and album revenues in 2005, Rolling Stone reports.

U2 made more than the Rolling Stones and the Eagles, the U.S. pop culture magazine reported.

U2 led the list of "Rock's Top 30 Moneymakers" of 2005 -- followed by the Stones at $92.5 million, the Eagles at $63.2 million, Paul McCartney at $56 million and Elton John at $48.9 million.

No. 6 was Neil Diamond at $44.7 million, with Jimmy Buffett close behind at $44 million. Rod Stewart was No. 8 at $40.3 million, the Dave Matthews Band pulled in $39.6 million and Celine Dion closed out the top 10 at $31.5 million.
