LOS ANGELES, March 12 (UPI) -- MTV has chosen June 3 as the date for its annual MTV Movie Awards, it was announced Sunday.
The least serious of all the awards shows bestows honors in non-traditional categories such as Best Kiss, Best Villain and Best Comedic Performance.

The ceremony will be taped at Sony Pictures Studios in Culver, City, Calif., and air during primetime on June 8, Daily Variety reported Sunday.
The nominees are chosen by the public and will be announced in the spring.
Last year's big winners were "Napoleon Dynamite," and "Mean Girls," which grabbed three awards each.
