ShoWest to honor Dakota Fanning

LAS VEGAS, March 10 (UPI) -- Child actress Dakota Fanning was announced Friday as ShoWest's supporting actress of the year.

Fanning will receive the honor during the convention's closing ceremony Thursday in Las Vegas, The Hollywood Reporter said.

"Since her big-screen debut at the age of 7, Dakota Fanning has impressed audiences worldwide with her unique ability to capture the spirit of each and every character she portrays," ShoWest co-managing director Mitch Neuhauser said.

Fanning's next big screen role will be in the live-action version of E.B. White's "Charlotte's Web." Among her other film credits are "I Am Sam," "Man on Fire" and "War of the Worlds."
