Richter, O'Brien team up for NBC comedy

LOS ANGELES, March 7 (UPI) -- Conan O'Brien and his former "Late Night" sidekick, Andy Richter, are together again for an NBC primetime series.

O'Brien co-wrote and is executive producing the comedy "Andy Barker P.I.," The Hollywood Reporter said Tuesday.

Richter stars as the title character, an accountant who moves into an office that was previously occupied by a private investigator. The series follows him as -- after his business fails to thrive -- he reluctantly assumes the persona of a detective.

The project is being produced by NBC Universal TV Studio and O'Brien's Conaco Productions.
