Gavin Rossdale signs for indie film role

LOS ANGELES, March 7 (UPI) -- Rocker and soon-to-be dad Gavin Rossdale has jumped aboard the independent comedy film, "How to Rob a Bank," it was reported Tuesday.

The husband of superstar Gwen Stefani and former Bush frontman will star alongside Nick Stahl of HBO's "Carnivale" and Erika Christensen, most recently seen in "The Upside of Anger," Daily Variety reports.

The film will mark the directorial debut of its writer, Andrew Jenkins.

The story revolves around a slacker and a bank employee forced to arbitrate between bank robbers, led by Rossdale, and police, Variety said.
