Falco: Cast in denial about 'Sopranos' end

NEW YORK, March 3 (UPI) -- Actress Edie Falco says she and the cast of "The Sopranos" are "in denial" about the show coming to an end after six seasons.

The first episode of the final, 20-episode season of the HBO drama is set to air March 12.

"We're all in denial and also we have a long way to go before we are actually down to the last few," Falco told reporters in New York, while promoting her new big-screen thriller, "Freedomland." "So, we're still chugging along pretty happily right now."

Insisting she has nothing more than blonde hair color in common with Carmela, the mob wife she plays on the show, Falco said, "I really enjoy being her, but we are very different."

So, would Falco be devastated if Carmela was whacked in the show's final season?

"Edie would be devastated because it would mean I'd have to get another job," she confessed. "I have so much respect for these writers and for (creator) David Chase for his sort of overview of this story and what moves it along. If he thought Carmela had to go, then I'd trust his judgment and I'm sure there would be a reason."
