LOS ANGELES, March 1 (UPI) -- Eight-time Academy Award-winning songwriter Alan Menken is back in the house of Disney, it was reported Wednesday.

Menken -- who helped make hits out of "The Little Mermaid," "Beauty and the Beast" and "Aladdin" -- has signed a non-exclusive, multi-picture deal with Walt Disney Studios, starting with the live-action/animated musical, "Enchanted," Zap2it.com reported Wednesday.

The film will reunite Menken with fellow Oscar-winner Stephen Schwartz, who worked with him on "Pocahontas" and "The Hunchback of Notre Dame."

In addition to film work, the prolific Menken is working on a stage adaptation of "The Little Mermaid" and developing musical themes for the Disney's Japan theme parks as well, Zap2it.com said.

Menken's next Disney project to hit the big screen is the soundtrack for the Tim Allen-starring remake of "The Shaggy Dog."
