CHEPSTOW, England, Feb. 21 (UPI) -- Sex Pistols star Johnny Lydon, aka Johnny Rotten, reportedly has no interest in meeting his British sister who was adopted out as an infant.
"I don't think Johnny can handle it," Janet Small, 51, told Tuesday's Mirror. "What really hurts me is the fact he thinks I'm lying. But this is the truth and he's just got to accept it."
Small, of Chepstow, England, said the punk superstar told her he did not want to meet her and accused her of making up her parentage story.
Small said she was born to Lydon's unmarried mother, Eileen, after a brief affair in London. She ended up giving her infant daughter up for adoption.
She became pregnant again and married John Lydon, with whom she had four sons. But Eileen never told her family about the daughter she gave up for adoption before she died in 1978, the newspaper said.
Small said she spent three years searching for her family after getting access to her adoption papers.
She said her mother's husband and sister gave her a warm welcome, but Johnny, who lives in Los Angeles, and his brothers in England have refused to acknowledge her as family.
They refused her offer to prove her claim with a DNA test.
