
BERLIN, Feb. 18 (UPI) -- Jasmila Zbanic's Bosnian war story "Grbavica" took the top Golden Bear award Saturday at the Berlin International Film Festival.
Michael Winterbottom and Mat Whitecross won the directors' award for "The Road to Guantanamo," Daily Variety reported.
Moritz Bleibtreu won the Silver Bear acting award for his role as a sexually disturbed teacher in "The Elementary Particles" and Sandra Hueller won for her part in "Requiem," about a young woman who undergoes an exorcism after suffering a breakdown.
The First Feature Award and Jury Grand Prix Silver Bear went to Danish director Pernille Fischer Christensen's "A Soap." Jafar Panahi's "Offside," about Iranian girls who dress as boys to watch soccer also won a Jury Grand Prix.
The Silver Bear for music went to Peter Kam for the Hong Kong film, "Isabella" and Argentine director Rodrigo Moreno took the Alfred Bauer Prize for innovative film for "El Custodio."
