LOS ANGELES, Feb. 16 (UPI) -- Security at the Academy Awards ceremony in Los Angeles will be ramped up this year because of a controversial movie in the foreign film pool, sources say.
"Paradise Now," which tells the story of two would-be Palestinian suicide bombers targeting Israel, has sparked security concerns, a law enforcement source told TMZ.com Thursday.
The Web site also quotes an unidentified FBI official as saying the prospect of terrorist threats Oscar night is "pretty huge."
FBI spokeswoman Laura Eimiller said the bureau has not received any specific threat directed at the Kodak Theatre or the ceremony scheduled for March 5.
The Los Angeles Police Department is in charge of Oscar night security but the FBI would immediately take over in the case of a threat, TMZ.com reported.
