Nelly sues New York car dealer for song

NEW YORK, Feb. 16 (UPI) -- St. Louis-based rap superstar Nelly is taking on a New York luxury car dealer to court for allegedly cheating him out of $37,000.

Specific details were not released about the suit filed in Manhattan Supreme Court charging Manhattan Motorcars, Inc., with breach of contract, fraud and unfair trade practices, the New York Post reported Thursday.

The singer of hits such as "Hot in Herre" and "Ride Wit Me" is seeking $37,195 from the Porsche and Bentley dealer as well as punitive damages and legal fees.

Reps for neither side returned calls seeking comment.
