
MIAMI, Feb. 16 (UPI) -- Daddy Yankee grabbed 10 nominations to lead the field Thursday for the 2006 Billboard Latin Awards.
Mexican pop phenomenon RBD grabbed nine nods, Billboard.com reported. Telemundo will air the awards ceremony from Miami's Ritz-Carlton South Beach in Miami April 24.
Daddy Yankee received nods for Hot Latin Songs Artist, Top Latin Albums Artist and Songwriter of the Year and his album "Barrio Fino En Directo" was nominated as Reggaeton Album of the Year.
Shakira garnered eight nods, Machete act Wisin & Yandel grabbed seven and Colombian rocker Juanes and Puerto Rican meringue/pop star Olga Tanon each nabbed five nominations.
Other multiple finalists include La 5a Estación and Reyli, Aventura, Frankie J., Arthur Hanlon and Luis Fonsi.
