BURBANK, Calif., Feb. 15 (UPI) -- Former New Kids on the Block singer Joey McIntyre is Fonzie in Garry Marshall's stage musical adaptation of his hit TV show, "Happy Days."

Marshall, who created and produced the TV sitcom, is directing the musical opening Feb. 24 at the Falcon Theatre in Burbank, Calif., Playbill reported.

Oscar and Grammy Award winning composer Paul Williams wrote the music for the musical, which co-stars Broadway veteran Ernie Sabella as Arnold.

The musical set in 1959 Milwaukee brings back the TV characters of Richie, Lori Beth, Potsie, Ralph Malph, Pinky Tuscadero and the Malachi Brothers, Playbill said.

McIntyre made his 2004 Broadway debut in "Wicked." Marshall owns the Falcon Theatre, which is run by his daughter, Kathleen.
