BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., Feb. 12 (UPI) -- "Walk the Line" and "Memoirs of a Geisha" have taken the top production design awards at the 10th annual Art Directors Guild Awards in Beverly Hills, Calif.
The guild honored production designer John Myhre for "Memoirs of a Geisha" in the period or fantasy film category and David J. Bomba in the contemporary film category for "Walk the Line."
In the TV categories, Joseph Bennett won for the first episode of HBO's "Rome." John Sabato won for Fox TV's "Mad TV," Stuart Wurtzel was honored for HBO's miniseries "Empire Falls" and Roy Christopher won the top honor in the awards, musical or variety show category for the "77th Annual Academy Awards."
The TV commercial production design award went to Jeremy Ree for Bud Light's "Headless Horseman" campaign.
Production designer John Mansbridge was honored for lifetime achievement. Steven Spielberg was given a special award for Outstanding Contribution to Cinematic Imagery and Ronald V. Strang was celebrated for Career Achievement for Scenic Arts.
