Oprah strikes a deal with XM Radio

CHICAGO, Feb. 9 (UPI) -- Oprah Winfrey and XM Satellite Radio Thursday announced a three-year deal for a new radio channel to be known as "Oprah & Friends."

The channel is due to hit the satellite radio network in September, "Entertainment Tonight" reported.

"Together with my friends, we look forward to creating programming that will entertain, inform and inspire our listening audience on XM," Winfrey said.

The 24-hour channel will feature guests from TV's "The Oprah Winfrey Show" hosting segments on nutrition, health, fitness, home and self-improvement, "ET" said.

Winfrey and Gayle King will put together a show that will run weekly as well.
